Auditioning at Copperstar Repertory Co.
Welcome to Copperstar Repertory Co.! We are thrilled you have chosen to be a part of one of our productions.
Our auditions are offered for two to three days, depending on the production. Please email us at casting@copperstarrep.org or call (480)699-1655 to schedule an audition appointment.
If you are new to the audition process, we encourage you to attend our Informational Meeting. This meeting will be geared towards giving you the answers to the most frequently asked questions. We realize that auditioning for the first time can be overwhelming and we want to take the anxiety out of the process by addressing your questions early. Seasoned parent volunteers and Copperstar staff will be available to answer any and all questions. We will also be taking audition appointments following the meeting.
In addtion to the information provided here auditon information for Copperstar Repertory Co. productions are listed on the audition call board of the Durant Communications web site prior to all casting calls. Who Can Audition?
At Copperstar we encourage ALL community members to audition for our productions. We strive to bring the community together through participation in the arts. We have had many families participate in shows and are told it has brought them closer together! Theatre gives a tremendous gift to its participants by developing new friendships and strengthening old ones. Come on and give it a try! It’s a lot of fun! Ages need for each production will vary, check out the individual show audition page for more information.
Tuition
There is a $115 fee to participate in each Copperstar show. This fee is made payable to Higley Community Education upon being cast in the show and must be paid in person or via the internet by 3pm on the day of our first rehearsal. Instructions will be provided to those cast in the show.
Audition Checklist
- MAKE AN APPOINTMENT- email casting@copperstarrep.org or call (480)699-1655
- Download and complete an AUDITION PACKET found on the individual show audition page in PDF format. Bring it with you on the day of your audition, along with your attached resume, if you have one.
- Review the CONFLICT CALENDAR for the show you are auditioning for (also found on the individual show audition page). When you come to your audition, be prepared to submit any prior commitments that might prevent you from attending any rehearsals.
- RESUME and PHOTO (optional)
- PREPARED SONG from the show. Sheet music is posted on the individual show audition page in PDF format by character. Choose 1 or 2 selection under the characters you would like to be considered for and prepare them well. An accompanist will be provided for your audition.
- DANCE CLOTHES & SHOES (for Call Backs Only)
