We would love to see you audition for our shows and we are thrilled you are interested in being a part of one of our productions. Copperstar will hold our 2011-2012 Season Auditions August 24-27, 2011. You may audition for all or one or more of our shows at this time. UPCOMING AUDITION WORKSHOP
If you are new to the audition process, we encourage you to attend our AUDITION WORKSHOP on August 13 at the HCPA (Youth- 9am -1pm, Adults – 2pm - 6pm). We realize that auditioning for the first time can be overwhelming and we want to take the anxiety out of the process by addressing your questions early. We will also be taking audition appointments following the workshop. You will work with Copperstar’s Director, Music Director and Choreographer, learn how to choose audition material and how to prepare. CLICK HERE to register for our Audition Workshop.

Who Can Audition?
At Copperstar we encourage all community members to audition for our productions. We strive to bring the community together through participation in the arts. We have had many families participate in shows together and are told it has brought them closer together! Theatre gives a tremendous gift to its participants by developing new friendships and strengthening old ones. Come on and give it a try. It’s a lot of fun! Ages needed for each production will vary, but this season includes a wide range. You are never too old, but children under the age of six will need a parent in the cast. Tuition
There is a participation fee of $115 for the cast of each Copperstar show. This fee is made payable to Copperstar upon being cast in the show and must be paid in person or through PayPal by 3pm on the day of our first rehearsal. Instructions will be provided to those cast in the show.
Audition Checklist
- Make an appointment email us using our ONLINE AUDITION FORM or call (480)699-1655
- Download and complete an AUDITION FORM (PDF format). Bring it with you on the day of your audition, along with your attached resume, if you have one.
- Review the CONFLICT CALENDAR and when you come to your audition, crossing out any prior commitments that might prevent you from attending any rehearsals.
- Photo (at least 4”x6”) and resume (optional)
- Prepared music (NOT from the shows)- two contracting 32 bar selections. If you do not know what that means, you might consider coming to the AUDITION WORKSHOP to get the help you will need to feel comfortable and confident. An accompanist will be provided for your audition.
- Dance cloths and dance shoes (for Call Backs Only)
